Karongi Pulls Big Show of RPF Support

If size matters, then the massive turn out of supporters and local residents at political rallies held across the country by RPF Inkotanyi in the last one week alone is something to reckon with.
On Monday, Karongi district pulled yet another surprisingly big show with a massive crowd which authorities estimated at over 140,000.
"Your voice is loud and clear," RPF's candidate, President Paul Kagame said in acknowledgment of the big turn out amidst deafening cheer and applause.
"To come here in such big numbers says something. Be it (my) critics or foreigners who know nothing about us, let this show them," Kagame said, his right fist clinched and raised vigorously.
Kagame was in Kamonyi on his second tour of the day after earlier addressing another rally at Gisisa cell, Musasa Sector of Rutsiro district, where thousands gathered by the banks of Koko River to listen to him speak. He was accompanied by First Lady and his children.
"Let your numbers and voices be heard overseas! The voice of the people can not be subdued. Rwandans know what they want and this has been said, loud and clear in Karongi," he said.
"This is a celebration. It's a day heroes stand out. what remains now is election day," the RPF flag-bearer said.
After listening to testimonies as has been the practice at previous RPF rallies, Kagame said his next term of office will focus on better living standards of all Rwandans, especially  by consolidating achievements in sectors like education, health, security, justice and good governance..

In Rutsiro, he arrived at 1.20pm in the company of the First Family amidst ululation and wild cheers.
Emphasizing his campaign message, Kagame said he was in the area to appreciate what residents and the whole country has achieved over the past years  and to plan how best the country's development vision can be realized in the near future.
"In order to achieve what we all aspire, you need to decide well by choosing the RPF and its candidate," he said, adding that the country has a lot of expectations from the youth, artists, farmers and the private sector to drive it into the future.
"The best times are ahead...our finger tips are waiting (to touch the future)," he explained.
The road from Karongi to Rutsiro is a bumpy, dusty winding ride, with a lot of granite. Kagame told locals the road will be fixed soon, prompting the crowd to explode into wild applause and clapping.
At both rallies, the First Family joined members of the public in a dance, entertained by a number of local artists.
On Tuesday the RPF campaign heads to Kamonyi and Ruhango districts.

Kagame starts another week of campaigns

THE RPF Inkotanyi candidate, President Paul Kagame embarks on yet another week of intensive vote hunting across the country after six days of record-breaking attendance at all rallies held last week.

Kagame took off a one-day recess Sunday after traversing nine districts in the East and Southern provinces. His campaign camp took advantage of the day to evaluate the party’s strategy and impact of last week's campaigns and plan for subsequent weeks ahead.

Party vice chairman, Christophe Bazivamo, National Campaign Manager, Fidel Ndayisaba and Campaign Spokesman Wellars Gasamagera told reporters at a media briefing that the Party was moved by the record numbers of enthusiastic supporters attending the rallies.

"We have great hope in the people. We know Rwandans love their candidate because of the achievements they have attained so far. He did not just promise, he has walked the talk," said Bazivamo.

RPF’s candidate continues to attract huge crowds, which officials estimate at between 80,000-120,000 people at different rallies he has campaigned in.

“The numbers of people attending our rallies is overwhelming,” RPF Chief Campaign Manager Fidele Ndayisaba said. “As a party we appreciate the words of inspiration, moral support and the enthusiasm shown by our supporters across the country and we encourage them to attend our remaining rallies in big numbers like it has been so far.”

Some of the districts the RPF candidate has covered so far include Gasabo (Kigali), Rulindo, Gakenke, Musanze, Burera, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Ngororero and Muhanga.

Kagame's message at the campaign rallies has majorly emphasized on consolidating achievements attained under the leadership of the RPF government. He has also called on Rwandans to double their efforts in wealth creation so as to achieve prosperity for all. This way, he added, would give Rwandans the dignity we deserve.

The RPF candidate has also outlined some of the key achievements in sectors like health education, security, agriculture, ICTs, women and youth empowerment. He has promised to multiply those achievements during his next mandate.

During his visits, residents have given testimony on how their livelihoods have changed greatly. They said government programs, such as Ubudehe, Girinka , Mutuelle de sante and universal education, had significantly changed the way they live.

Kagame will be campaigning in Karongi and Rutsiro districts today in week where campaigns will mainly be concentrated in Southern and parts of Western provinces.
